XMAS 2027 – Call for Session & Event Proposals
The Eighth Xiamen Symposium on Marine Environmental Sciences (XMAS 2027) will be held from January 11 to 14, 2027, in Xiamen, China. The symposium is jointly organized by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (MEL), Xiamen University, and the Department of Earth Sciences, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). The Session/event proposal submissions are open till March 31, 2026.
Scientific Scope
XMAS 2027 will feature interdisciplinary and forward-looking sessions covering physical, chemical, and biological oceanography, marine pollution, marine policy and governance, ocean-based carbon dioxide removal, marine sustainability, the marine economy, marine education and outreach, as well as Women in Science and mentoring activities.

·August 31, 2026 – Abstract acceptance notifications & scientific program release
·October 15, 2026 – Early bird registration deadline
