“海洋生物地球化学”创新引智基地于 2006 年入选教育部、外专局“高等学校学科创新引智计划”（简称“111”基地），2011年获滚动资助，2019年获“111计划2.0”项目持续支持。2026年再次获批“海洋生物地球化学学科创新引智基地”。该基地为实验室提供了一个稳定的交流合作平台，通过海外专家与实验室科研骨干的交流与融合，促进开展高水平、整合性的合作研究。

The 111 Center on Marine Biogeochemistry was established in 2006 under the Program of Introducing Talents of Discipline to Universities (known as the “111” Center), jointly funded by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. It was renewed in 2011 through rolling support and continued under the “111 Project 2.0” initiative in 2019. In 2026, the Center was once again approved for another funding term.

Thanks to this project, international and MEL scientists have formed strong partnerships for in depth collaborations. These collaborative activities have thus far included research, student exchanges, and technical and academic staff training with a number of international and regional institutions.
